TIB is about to launch a new open access service on which scientific journals and conference publications can be published. In doing so, it is underlining its orientation towards Open Access and adding a significant new pillar to its activities to support the transition to Open Access. As a research partner, TIB is committed to professional, optimally accessible and widely visible publications.

Within the project ROSI (Reference Implementation for Open Scientometric Indicators) ImpactViz was developed as a tool to collect and visualize information on the impact of a publication. A plugin for Open Journal Systems (OJS) allows an easy handling of this tool.

The Initiative for Open Abstracts (I4OA) has been launched. It appeals to scientific publishers to make the abstracts of the works they publish freely available. The TIB is supporting this call.
