From now on, and especially in the anniversary month of April, we want to celebrate the TIB AV-Portal together (!) with a variety of activities and campaigns. This can of course be seen and experienced in the portal itself, as an “information hub” here in the TIB-Blog and far beyond.

The TIB AV-Portal in 2023: AI-based speech recognition, high-definition and dynamic frontend

Since 2018, the TIB AV-Portal has been developed by a Scrum team at the TIB. In this blog post, we introduce you to the latest features that were implemented in 2023: Speech recognition with Whisper, videos in full HD quality, redesign for a more responsive frontend, optimisation of the search function, new highlighting function and modernisation of the media player. And, of course, there is also a sneak preview of the innovations planned for 2024.

More Reliable – More Flexible – More Attractive: Update on the Development of the AV-Portal

The TIB video portal currently has almost 40,000 scientific videos from all disciplines and 700,000 visits per year. This blog post presents current further developments in 2022. These include easier findability of videos, an improved upload form and subtitling of videos.
