Funding Round for Open Access in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science underway

From 1 June 2023 to 1 July 2023, a funding call for seven journals in quantum physics, mathematics, and computer science is underway. Libraries, research institutions, foundations, companies and individuals can make a financial contribution to ensure that these journals can exist sustainably as open access journals – without author-facing publishing fees.

More than 6,000 historical hand drawings and prints made available online by TIB

Historical treasures from the Albrecht Haupt Collection offer insights into the history of architecture and art: More than 6,000 digitised works from the Albrecht Haupt Collection, encompassing, for instance, pen and ink drawings and copperplate engravings from countries such as Italy, Germany and France, can now be accessed online.

TIB Terminology Service – Terminologies and Ontologies Support FAIR Research Data Management

In order to support the scientific use of established ontologies and terminologies, a Terminology Service was set-up by TIB in cooperation with the NFDI initiative: a single point of access to terminologies from a range of domains such as architecture, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics.

The 2nd ORKG Curation Grant Program – Stories of Machine-Actionable Research Contributions

In 2022, TIB awarded its ORKG Curation Grants for the second time. 10 researchers from several disciplines made continuous entries in the ORKG in their field of research and contributed significant research issues to the ORKG. ConfIDent: FIND, BROWSE and ANNOUNCE

The TIB is developing ConfIDent, a platform to provide sustainable information on scientific events as part of a DFG funded project. It is a service for researchers, universities, infrastructure institutions, and professional societies based on the FAIR principles. We launched ConfIDent last year, but since then the system has grown again and there is more to discover.

European Commission to fund large open-access project CRAFT-OA with participation of TIB

As part of the HORIZON Europe framework programme, the European Commission will fund a project of 23 partners to strengthen the landscape of institutional publishing for three years from January 1st. Within this field, there is a special focus on so-called „Diamond Open Access“, open access publishing without payments by readers or authors. The TIB is one of the participating organisations and ties this in with some of its current focal points in the open access field.
